She represented Scotland at the Miss World 2009 pageant which was held in Johannesburg, South Africa on December 12, 2009. Katharine placed as 2nd Runner-up at the Beach Beauty Fast Track Event.

She will now represent the UK at the Miss International 2010 in China in October.
