Sofía Silva Inserri, crowned Miss Venezuela in 1952, passed away on Friday, April 22nd, at the age of 81 in the city of Bogotá, Colombia.



Born in 1929 in the state of Bolívar, Silva was the first Venezuelan to take part in Miss Universe pageant.
