Representing Great Britain

19-year old Tara Hoyos Martinez, born to Colombian parents living in England, was crowned Miss Universe Great Britain 2010 at an event held in Birmingham on May 2nd. Tara, a student of Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University, will compete in the Miss Universe 2010 pageant.

Judges at the 2010 Miss Universe competition wouldn't be blamed for thinking that Miss Great Britain had the wrong sash on. With cascading chocolate locks, sultry brown eyes and olive skin, this year's entry is no English Rose, but a latina bombshell.

Miss Great Britain 2010, Tara Hoyos-Martinez, was born to Colombian parents living in England.

The lovely latina progressed through the qualification rounds of the Miss Great Britain contest, seeing off hundreds of competitors with her startling beauty to be crowned the national winner.

Hoyos-Martinez is a student of Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Manchester Metropolitan University and plans on studying a post-graduate course to become a surgeon.

May 03, 2010. Latino stunner, Tara Hoyos-Martinez from London was crowned Miss Universe GB 2010 in Birmingham. The 20 year-old beauty took to the stage along with 35 other girls in a bid to win the title and will now go on to represent Great Britain at Miss Universe this summer. Runners up in the competition were Kelly Pesticcio and Kathryn Lane, both from Cardiff.

BIOGRAPHY:

Tara is a 19-year-old born and bred Londoner. Currently studying Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at the Manchester Metropolitan University. Once she has finished her Bachelor of Scinece degree, she intend to purse a post-graduate course in Medicine, with a view to specialising in surgery. One of her main objectives for this choice in career is to be able to improve the health service in less-developed countries and make it more readily to those less fortunate. She is a very humble and loving, yet ambitious and extroverted person with a lot of integrity and drive to succeed. She is very passionate about making a stand for strong, determined, like-minded woman. She considers herself a well-rounded individual with her interests including dance and theatre, as well as literature, science and global affairs. She loves to learn, not only of intellectual matters but also about people and society; another quality she believes fundamental for any potential role model is the ability to cultivate a life for yourself around strong moral values of foundations. Her parents taught her this and she is eternally grateful to them.
